Civil & Commercial Litigation, Dispute Resolution & Mediation

Seon & Associates

When disputes carry real consequences, clients turn to us — individuals, businesses, financial institutions, statutory bodies, and international parties alike — for advocacy before every level of the Grenadian courts. Our breadth speaks for itself: commercial disputes, contractual claims, employment, construction, insurance, insolvency, and estates, handled with equal command. But we measure success by outcomes, not courtroom hours. Where mediation or alternative dispute resolution serves our clients better, we say so — and pursue strategies that deliver timely, cost-effective results while safeguarding the commercial and personal interests at stake.

1) Representing a financial institution on the enforcement of its power of sale on a mortgaged property where the Legal Personal Representative of the deceased mortgagor is challenging the validity of that exercise.

2) Representing a residents’ association in an appeal against a High Court judgment granting possession of a lot of land within a residential development scheme to both the association and the estate of a deceased trespasser, without specifying the basis upon which the property is to be held.

The issues included:   The powers and duties of a liquidator in transferring legal interest in land; Whether permission granted by a developer to an employee to access the land for employment purposes could give rise to adverse possession by that employee under the Limitation of Actions Act; and the treatment of evidence of a deceased witness.
